Ravago Group, a plastics supplier from Belgium has completed the acquisition of the European arm of DowDuPont’s Styrofoam-brand extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation business, including seven production plants.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but the deal includes operations including sales, R&D, customer service and other business operations.

The seven plants include one each at Drusenheim / France, Lavrion / Greece, Norrköping / Sweden, Dilovasi / Turkey and King’s Lynn / UK along with two German facilities at Rheinmünster and Schkopau.

Earlier this year, the Ravago family holding Plastiche also acquired the American chemical company Bamberger.

The acquisition allows the global market player in plastics to expand its scope to insulation materials for construction.

Ravago Group employs 6,000 worldwide, distributing almost 9 billion pounds of resins and compounds to 40,000 customers. The firm’s compounding and recycling units have combined annual global capacity of more than 1 billion pounds.
