India’s Ami Organics to set up battery electrolyte plant

Ami Organics, a prominent player in the field of specialty chemicals research and development, is gearing up to capitalize on the thriving battery market. The company has recently entered into a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a global electrolyte giant, paving the way for the establishment of battery cell and material production facilities in Gujarat, India. 

The company’s strategic partnership extends beyond this collaboration, as Ami Organics is reinforcing its commitment to India’s “Make in India” initiative by committing a significant investment of Rs 3 billion for the construction of a dedicated electrolyte manufacturing facility. The official signing ceremony is scheduled to take place at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, solidifying Ami Organics’ position as a frontrunner in the clean energy revolution. 

In addition to its foray into the battery market, Ami Organics boasts expertise in a wide range of specialty chemicals and advanced pharmaceutical ingredients. With a portfolio encompassing over 520 commercialized pharmaceutical intermediates, the company has established itself as a formidable force in the healthcare sector as well.
