MANE, a French fragrance and flavor firm inaugurated its new facility at Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) in Dahej, Gujarat.
The new 20,500 sq. m facility will be MANE’s largest manufacturing plant in India.
As the new plant is strategically located in one of India’s leading chemical manufacturing regions with easy connectivity to ports, the new facility is the right move for MANE India to expand its footprint in the Indian subcontinent.
MANE’s new plant will play a key role in meeting the growing demands of flavour and fragrance markets in India and across the Asia-Pacific region.
The company has invested 20 million euros ( in setting up the new plant, equipping it with advanced technologies and machinery including an HVAC system with EC fan, an energy valve, and a heat exchanger. The plant will also be run sustainably, with a 25% reduction in energy consumption.
The MANE Dahej plant’s annual production capacity is 2,000 tonnes of flavour products and 3,000 tonnes of fragrance products. This means that it will produce high-quality liquid fragrances and flavours on a scale at par with other global MANE manufacturing plants, and that production can be increased in line with market growth.
Sumit Dasgupta, MANE India Managing Director, summarised MANE’s expansion strategy in India with these words: “MANE has been growing steadily and significantly in the Indian fragrance and flavour market. To support this journey, we are expanding our Indian operations. The availability of skilled manpower and accessibility of raw material suppliers are also some of the other key factors that played a critical role in our entry into Gujarat. Depending on the demand, we will continue to invest in the plant and ramp up our capacity in the future.”
This new facility is MANE’s second production facility in India.
