India’s Tata Chemicals Net Profit Jumps to Rs 4.38 Billion in Q4 FY22

Tata Chemicals Ltd., a chemicals manufacturer based in India has reported financial results for the period ended March 31, 2022.

Q4 Results

The company’s net profit grew by 3622% to Rs 4.38 billion for the period ended March 31, 2022 as against Rs 117.7 million for the period ended March 31, 2021.

Net sales increased by 32.8% to Rs 35.86 billion during the period ended March 31, 2022 as compared to Rs 27.01 billion during the period ended March 31, 2021.

Full-Year Results

The company’s net profit increased by 390.5% to Rs 12.57 billion for the full-year period ended March 31, 2022 as against Rs 2.56 billion for the full-year period ended March 31, 2021.

The company has reported net sales of Rs 128.78 billion during the full-year period ended March 31, 2022, an increase of 23.4% as compared to Rs 104.34 billion during the full-year period ended March 31, 2021.

The company has reported EPS of Rs 49.37 for the full-year period ended March 31, 2022 as compared to Rs 10.06 for the full-year period ended March 31, 2021.

“While the global demand environment continues to be positive across our products and their applications, the supply side environment, especially energy and input costs remain at elevated levels along with logistic challenges that continue to be seen in the market.

“The team has responded well to ensure customers are served with agility,” Tata Chemicals Managing Director and CEO R Mukundan said.

According to him, the focus has been to ensure sustained and consistent volume deliveries to customers and the company continues its long-term focus on excellence by leveraging digitalisation and sustainability.

“In addition to operational excellence, we continue to focus on executing the Phase I growth capex in India. The company has further planned for Phase II capacity expansion of soda ash (300 kilo tonnes) and bicarb (70 kt) and specialty silica capacity by 50 kt for a capex outlay of Rs 20 billion in India,” he added.

Tata Chemicals Ltd is mainly engaged in the business of manufacture and selling of chemicals and products related to crop protection and specialty chemistry.
