India’s Balaji Amines Ltd Announces Breakdown of Unit III DMF Plant

Balaji Amines Ltd has announced a small incident at its unit III demethylformamide (DMF) plant due to which leakages/breakdown has taken place.

While rectifying this, the company is adding some debottlenecking activities to increase capacity, which may take two to three weeks.

During this period, the DMF plant will not be operational.

The unit III DMF has an installed capacity of 30,000 tons per annum. The plant contributes 43% of DMF’s demand in India.

DMF is an important solvent used in bulk API manufacturing. India imports more than half of its total consumption of DMF, mainly from China.
