Apcotex Industries Limited, one of the leading manufacturers of Synthetic Latex and Rubber in India, is planning to expand capacity at its Valia plant in Gujarat by around 70,000 MTPA.
The new project will include an increase in production capacity of Synthetic Rubber (SBR) between 30,000 MTPA to 32000 MTPA to fulfill demand of automobile sector.
Additionally, a Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) Synthetic lattices of capacity 38000 MTPA will be built. NBR is used in Nitrile Gloves applicable to various applications especially in medical field.
“In India, 80% of Nitirile Butadiene Rubber is imported which creates good potential for Indian manufacturers. With the growth in Automobile sector and Gujarat having a large manufacturing base of automobile industry, this project is very important,” the company stated in its environment clearance application.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 160 crore ($21.7 million) as per the application.
