Asahi Kasei Mitsubishi Chemical Ethylene Restarts Naphtha Cracker

Asahi Kasei announced on 29 Januray that naphtha cracker of Asahi Kasei Mitsubishi Chemical Ethylene Corp. in Mizushima which was suspended on January 14, 2020, was restarted on January 28, 2020.

Initially, the suspension of operations was a result of refrigerant-related equipment issues.

The restart was delayed from the previously announced schedule of January 24, 2020, due to a malfunction in its steam system for irregular operation.

Asahi Kasei Mitsubishi Chemical Ethylene Corp. is a joint venture between Asahi Kasei Corp. and Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.

The cracker has a total production capacity of around 496,000 ton per year with turnaround and  567,000 ton per year without any turnaround.
